The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is excited to be working with MyKnowledgeMap Limited, the Commonwealth and representatives of Australian jurisdictions including Postgraduate Medical Councils nationally to deliver a world-class national ePortfolio system (‘The ePortfolio’) for prevocational doctors from early 2025.
In line with the AMC’s new two-year capability and performance framework, the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training, the ePortfolio will act as a record of learning that supports the development, training and assessment of thousands of Postgraduate Year 1 and Year 2 prevocational doctors nationally, ensuring a more consistent and well supported approach to medical training and supervision. The ePortfolio will also:
- feature offline capability on mobile devices to support uninterrupted access for users, which is ideal for rural locations where internet access is unreliable
- support learning and assessment processes
- strengthen the longitudinal view of prevocational doctor progress
- streamline administration.
Testing of the new ePortfolio functionality began in June 2024. We look forward to updating you further in the coming months as we approach a nationwide go-live date of January 2025!
