We pay our respects to them and to their Elders, both past, present and emerging, and we recognise their enduring connection to the lands we live and work on, and honour their ongoing connection to those lands, its waters and sky.

Overview of accreditation reports

Following a detailed accreditation assessment of an education provider and its programs of study, the AMC produces an accreditation report. The accreditation report is an in-depth assessment across all accreditation standards and includes:

  • the period of accreditation granted
  • monitoring requirements
  • accreditation conditions
  • the year in which the accreditation of the education provider and its programs of study will expire
  • whether the education provider is able to seek extension of the accreditation before the next reaccreditation assessment by an AMC team

Access the accreditation reports for primary, prevocational and specialist medical programs on this page below.

Extension of accreditation

To request an extension, a provider must complete an accreditation extension submission.

The accreditation extension submission must include evidence via a paper-based report that it continues to meet the accreditation standards, and that it has maintained its standard of education and of resources. This report also provides an opportunity for the education provider to highlight its achievements, and any additional work it has undertaken, in the time since the previous accreditation report.

On the basis of this report, an extension of accreditation for the education provider and its programs of study may be granted by the AMC, up to the maximum period of accreditation, which is ten years for medical school and specialist college programs.

Following a decision on the extension of accreditation, the AMC produces a report with an overview of its findings against all accreditation standards, and the status of conditions set at the time of accreditation.
