The Australian Medical Council is an organisation whose work impacts across the lands of Australia and New Zealand.
The Australian Medical Council acknowledges the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the original Australians and the Māori People as the tangata whenua (Indigenous) Peoples of Aotearoa (New Zealand). We recognise them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.

The Australian Medical Council and the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Education are proud to launch a new award that recognises the vital role of interprofessional collaborative practice in delivering high-quality healthcare and the importance of interprofessional education in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
This award celebrates an outstanding individual or team demonstrating excellence or innovation in health professions education that advances interprofessional collaborative care, with medical education as a component.
The award is part of the ANZAHPE awards program and will be presented at the ANZAHPE conference in 2026.
Recipients can apply to the AMC for funding (up to $5000) to support attendance at the ANZAHPE Conference.
Prize – $1,500 AUD + Award Certificate
Health professional educators or teams who are current members of ANZAHPE and a resident of Australia or New Zealand are eligible.
One of the aims of the award is to recognise and support the efforts of early career educators. The nominee(s) must include a person in this category. This may be demonstrated by, for example, having five or less years’ experience in teaching/educator roles in a health profession education setting; or having completed the degree that led to that role within the last five years. The role of that person in the team should be clearly described.
