Policy and Programs Officer – Medical Schools Accreditation

  • Salary range: $96,598.92 – $102,266.06

As the Policy and Programs Officer, you will contribute to the accreditation of primary medical programs by coordinating assessment activities, supporting expert assessment teams, and delivering high quality reports and workshops. You will work closely with the Manager, Medical School Accreditation, Program Coordinators, and the Indigenous Policy and Programs team to ensure accreditation processes are robust, culturally safe, and aligned with AMC standards.

This role involves a mix of program coordination, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and event/workshop delivery. You will also participate in on site accreditation visits (approximately two to three per year), where you will meet with medical school stakeholders and observe facilities to support evidence-based accreditation outcomes.

Programs and Governance Officer (CPD homes, New Medical Specialties and Endorsement)

  • Salary range: $96,598 – $105,888 per annum + 12% superannuation.

As the Programs and Governance Officer (CPD Homes, New Medical Specialties and Endorsement), you will contribute to the delivery of key accreditation activities across several high‑impact programs. This includes coordinating assessments of CPD Home providers, cosmetic surgery programs of study, and applications for recognition of new medical specialties. You will work closely with assessment teams, education providers, and the AMC’s Indigenous Policy and Programs (IPP) team to ensure all assessment processes are culturally safe, inclusive, and aligned with AMC standards.

You will also provide high‑quality secretariat support to the AMC committees involved in these accreditation processes, preparing agendas, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring decisions progress smoothly through governance pathways. A core part of the role is upholding the AMC’s Cultural Safety Protocol by actively seeking guidance from the IPP team and embedding culturally appropriate approaches in all stakeholder engagement and project planning.
