Primary Source Verification of Medical Qualifications (EICS verification) for Medical Board Purposes

Non-candidates for AMC Examinations

Australia's state and territory medical boards have established a national policy for all international medical graduates for the assessment of qualifications by the International Credentials Service of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates of the United States (EICS verification).

The AMC administers this process, whether or not the graduate is a candidate for AMC Examinations.

For EICS verification, you must lodge with the AMC:

You must also lodge:
  • a certified copy of your original primary medical qualification (plus an English translation if required)
  • Two passport-sized photographs of yourself with your name clearly printed on the reverse
  • the relevant fee as per the AMC fee structure

The person who witnesses your Form EICS V2 must also witness the photograph and documentation. A list of people who can act as witnesses is below.

Note: Form EICS V-2 is for EICS verification only, and is not an application for assessment to determine eligibility to sit an AMC Examination or for the Specialist Assessment Pathway.

When your form, photograph and documentation are recieved by the AMC, they will be sent for EICS verification.  The nominated medical board will be notified that this has occured.

When the verification is passed, the AMC will send you written notification.
