The Attachment to application for assessment as Area of Need Specialist must be accompanied by:

• a Declaration of Area of Need issued by the health department of the state or territory in which the position is located
• a job description
• a letter of offer of employment.

The application cannot be processed until we receive confirmation that the position has been declared to be in an area of need.

Applicants for assessment by the Adult Medicine Division or the Paediatrics and Child Health Division of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians will be required by the college to complete an Application form for an overseas trained physician/paediatrician seeking assessment by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Applicants for assessment by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists will be required to complete a Reference request - Form 4.
