The possible outcomes for candidates for the clinical examination scheduling are as follows:

- accept and pay for their position online
- decline and nominate the waitlist opportunity online
- decline their clinical position online
- Candidates offered a waitlist opportunity will be able to accept or decline online
- Candidates not offered a position or waitlist opportunity will be able to apply for the next series of clinical examinations.

Eligibility
Candidates who have passed the MCQ examination are eligible to apply for the clinical examination.
Scheduling Procedures for the AMC Clinical Examination
Candidates are scheduled into a centre immediately after the closing date for a series. Candidates will be notified of the outcome approximately 10 days after the closing date of the series for which they applied.
The AMC cannot guarantee to place applicants in their preferred centre, although it will endeavour to do so wherever possible.
Where the number of applications for clinical examination places in a specific examination series exceeds the availability of examination places, the scheduling of applicants will take the following factors into consideration:
- Clinical first attempt candidates
- will have priority over repeat attempt candidates
- will be ranked in merit order based on their overall score in the MCQ examination
- with a longer wait time between passing the MCQ examination and attempting the clinical examination will have priority over those with a shorter wait time
- Clinical repeat attempt candidates, in general
- with fewer clinical repeat attempts will have priority over candidates with a higher number of clinical repeat attempts, subject to the wait time between attempts
- with a longer wait time between attempts of the clinical examination will have priority over those with a shorter wait time.
The AMC scheduling procedures for the AMC Clinical Examination can be viewed at the following link: Scheduling process for the clinical examination.
The AMC booklet Examination Specifications Clinical Supplement is presently being updated to reflect the new candidates portal information. The booklet is expected to be available for download via the AMC website after 31 January 2012.
