University of Queensland Executive Summary 2010

The AMC’s Assessment and Accreditation of Medical Schools: Standards and Procedures
provides for medical schools to propose major changes to their accredited medical courses. When
it considers the initial advice from a school about planned changes, the AMC Medical School
Accreditation Committee decides whether the change is major and if it is, if the major change can
be approved for introduction within the current accreditation of the course or is of comprehensive
impact that would require re-accreditation of the whole course.
