Why does the AMC notifying IMG’s whose verification remains pending now, to re-apply to EPIC?

The current EICS verification process is changing from 1 October 2015. Your verification status is still recorded as outstanding. This email it so inform you of the new verification process via EPIC.

Why hasn’t the AMC notified me of my verification progress?

The AMC’s email notifications on your verification updates has only be introduced since 2011. Prior to 2011, it was the IMG’s responsibility to contact the AMC for enquiries on verification updates. Am I the only IMG that requires verification, or is this related to all IMGs?

Verification of medical qualifications are mandated under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009 (National Law) for all IMGs seeking registration in any category in Australia.

Please contact the AHPRA to enquire if verification of your medical qualification/s is still required.

What should I do now that I have received a notification email from AMC regarding my outstanding verification?

Step 1: Contact your medical institution to enquire if your EICS verification request/s is still in their office? If so, they should complete the documentation provided and return to ECFMG by using the enclosed self-addressed envelope that were sent with your verification request.

When you submit your credentials to EPIC for verification, it is important that you select to have AMC notified when your credential is sent for verification; follow the instructions on-screen in the EPIC Physician Portal. Once the AMC has received confirmation that your verification has been passed, your AMC records will also be updated on the AMC’s qualifications portal used by AHPRA / Specialist Medical Colleges for registration/assessment purposes.

Why can’t ECFMG process more reminders since I already paid for this with my pathway application?

Every EICS request has a maximum of 5 x attempts (initial request and 4 x further reminders). This limit attempts cannot be exceeded per request.

What happenes if my EICS verification is still in progress by October 2015?

If your EICS request was processed to ECFMG by 30 September 2015, the EICS verifications process will continue.
